This Summer I made the decision to free myself from many years of a life struggling with addiction and sin. I attended the Elim Home for Men, a ministry of Thomas Road Baptist Church. I was brought up in a Southern Baptist church and made the decision to accept Jesus into my heart at the age of twelve when I was moved to do so. I fully understood what He did on the cross for me and lived my life for Him. Unfortunately, after high school I fell into a life of partying and sin and got further and further away from living my life for Christ. Due to the guilt I had, I let myself get so far away that I became covered in doubt and shame. Luckily being in the program with great guidance studying His Word led me to rededicate my life to Christ and once again follow His Will.
Since completing the program, with the brothers in Christ I have made we have our weekly Bible study group and it is such a blessing. This is the beginning of “Our Father’s House.” With our study and prayer we know He will look out for us and see to it that it will be an awesome ministry for men like myself to continue in their life for Jesus and glorify Him. It is so great because we help each other study His Word and fulfill His Will with our fellowship and love for each other. Life is good. I am so happy I made this decision and I know that this ministry is pleasing to God.
“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Cor. 4:17-18
